Biography:

Monica trained under Susan Roberts (former dancer with New York City Ballet), The Berlin Opera Ballet Professional Division (Germany), Lois Smith Professional Dance training program (Toronto, Canada) with many National Ballet of Canada instructors, and Paris Centre (France).  She graduated with honours from George Brown College with a Diploma in Dance (Toronto, Ontario).  Monica also holds a National Diploma in Classical Ballet (France). 

Her professional dance career includes Ontario Ballet Theatre (Toronto),  Hamilton Opera Company (Hamilton, Canada), Wayne Barbaste Dance Company (Paris, France), as well as  numerous commercial shows and television in Canada and Europe.

Besides her career in dance, Monica has worked and competed in the fitness industry.  She holds titles as National Fitness and Aerobics Champion and represented France in the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. 

Monica initiated FitKids and Dance Impact in France where she facilitated workshops and conventions. For the past 20 years she has taught and choreographed in British Columbia, Canada as well as being a featured instructor at the Yokohama Ballet Intensive, Japan. Her styles include ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern as well as musical theatre. Monica promotes the use of mind/body connection when working with dancers.

Many of Monica’s students have gone on to have careers internationally in the dance world.  She enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge with students of all ages and levels.
