Is it worth it?

The last two blogs I discussed some of the reasons we love to dance and why. But dance isn’t all fun and games (as some might think). There is some serious work going on here and dance has a whole set of challenges like no other artistic or athletic genre.

If you’re reading this and you’re a dancer already you know how much one has to dedicate to this art form. It  takes many years of hard work honing in on the skills and technique required to make dance a career.  There are countless hours spent both in class and in rehearsals trying to master the movements as well as make them look effortless. Everyone of us faces challenges whether it is flexibility, strength, musicality, coordination, interpretation, artistry and others.  Achieving this requires an enormous amount of patience and determination. The beauty is in knowing that all that effort is worth it.

Even with all the sacrifice and hard work there is nothing as rewarding as dance. Whether you dance recreationally or professionally we all have our “things” that frustrate and encourage us to go on.
